Web Based Recording (sound and webcam) FAQ
Nothing shows up when I go to the web recording page.
When nothing shows on the web recording page, you donft have flash plug-in installed. Go to this page to download the software and install it. It's strongly suggested that you have the latest version of the flash plug-in installed on your computer. They update the plug-in quite often. Go to this page to check which version of flash plug-in you have on your computer.
If you cannot see anything, first, make sure you have a webcam connected to your computer. This solves a lot of problems. Without a webcam connected to your computer, it's impossible to make a video recording.
Also, make sure that no other applications which use a webcam are open. When a webcam is used by another application, only that application can use the webcam.
Then, make sure Flash plug-in correctly recognizes your webcam. View this QuickTime movie and set up the flash plug-in for your webcam. This is just a sample. If you follow 100% what you see, you probably cannot get the image from your webcam. In the sample QuickTime movie, I chose a FireWire webcam because that's what I use, but what you have is probably not a FireWire webcam. What you have is most likely a USB webcam. Be sure to select the correct webcam. If you donft' know what you have, you can do trial and errors until you can hit the correct settings.
If you cannot recording anything, first, make sure you have a microphone connected to your computer. This solves a lot of problems. Without a microphone connected to your computer, it's impossible to make a recording.
Also, make sure that no other applications which use a microphone are open. When a microphone is used by another application, only that application can use the microphone.
Then, also go to this page and make sure your microphone is correctly selected by Flash plug-in.
It seems nothing happens (frozen) on the recording page.
For some mysterious reason, from time to time, a page with flash plug-in gets frozen. When this happens, quit your web browser and start again. Sometimes, you might have to restart your computer.
