You need to do the following so that your web browser can display Japanese after installing software which makes your computer Japanese ready.

I use Macintosh, so I can only assume that Netscape Communicator and Internet Explorer for windows have the similar setup.

If you use Netscape Communicator.

Go to "View" and choose "Japanese" from "Character set."

And go to "Preference" and choose Japanese fonts for encoding Japanese.

If you use Internet Explorer, go to "View" and choose "Japanese (AutoDetect) from "Character Set."
